Meet the Utah-Based Artist

Liz Kuz is an Utah-based illustrator, designer, and creative director whose work is inspired by the landscapes that surround her. Drawn to the intersection of art, adventure and conservation, she creates vibrant illustrations that celebrate the outdoors while encouraging people to connect with and protect the places they love. When she’s not creating, you’ll likely find her skiing, mountain biking or camping with her family.

About the Artwork

This artwork wasn’t originally created for a license plate, but it turns out it was heading down that road all along. The piece was inspired by rides on Thunder Mountain Trail in Red Canyon, just outside Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah. The towering red rock hoodoos, winding singletrack and endless blue skies make it one of my favorite places to ride.

I wanted to capture the feeling of moving through Utah’s incredible landscapes. It’s exciting to see that spirit now traveling across the state on a license plate.
