We Are Hiring: Youth Program Coordinators!

Help make Utah a better place to ride! Join the Bike Utah team!

Position: Youth Program Coordinator

Employment Location: Salt Lake City

Salary Range: $30,000-$35,000

Benefits: Health Insurance; Results-Oriented Work Environment; Intrastate Travel Accommodations, and Per Diem

Reports to: Youth Program Manager

Bike Utah’s Youth BEST (Bicycle Education Safety Training) program is growing and we are looking for some good folks to help us travel the state and get more kids on bikes! As a Youth Education Coordinator, you will go statewide implementing Bike Utah’s vehicular cycling curriculum to students in the 4th - 7th grade. Classes not only help students learn to ride bikes when needed but more importantly help them find the skills and confidence to navigate the bike lanes, trails, and roads that Bike Utah as a whole is working tirelessly to expand.

A day in the life of a Youth Education Coordinator will have you working with a team to transport our trucks filled with bikes, helmets and teaching supplies to schools all over Utah where you work with teachers and school staff to set up and teach the program to a new set of students each week. A majority of the time you will start the day at our offices in Salt Lake City before driving to a school within the region. For about 20 percent of schools, there will be an overnight stay at a local hotel with lodging and a per diem included while reveling in the opportunity to experience new towns and locations. A Youth Education Coordinator does a bit of everything, but most importantly, they must love working with kids and be able to ride a bicycle. Experience with teaching, bicycle mechanics, driving large vehicles, and using modern technology including the Goggle Suit of software are all ideal but can be trained for the right candidates. Weeks, when we are not on location at schools, will have the BEST team working collaboratively to keep program equipment in great shape including bikes, trucks and teaching materials. Coordinators will also work independently to keep program records up to date and pursue personal projects for the program. This work often happens at home in your PJs, but an office is also available for use. We are a results based work environment that vales self-motivated and highly organized individuals. This means we work hard but promote a healthy work-life balance including paid time off and early Fridays whenever possible.

If working “The BEST job in the world”, while meeting excited students, traveling the state and continually putting in the effort to improve, expand and grow as an educator sounds like the right fit for you, please see the position description for how to apply.
